Members … how to get them and how to keep them … that is the question!
The bottom line is that the getting and the keeping rest largely with the club and its members.
Our national membership committee is determined to help you in any way they can. There are free brochures at headquarters, our website (www.gardenclub.org) has downloadable handouts on which you can add your club contact info and we are working on a couple of new posters. BUT the proven way to gain new members is to:
Ask someone to join. … Share knowledge … Keep them involved in activities.

The membership committee is asking you to share ideas of projects, events or campaigns
that have increase your club membership. Please contact any member of the NGC
Membership committee with your ideas and we will share them through this column for all clubs to use.

New Membership Increase Award….. $$$$

A new award has been added for this administration for membership increase. In addition to the current
#15 Violet N Gose silver trophies which may be awarded to:
A. the state with the greatest increase in paid membership, as of October 31.
B. The state with the greatest per capita increase in paid membership, percentage-wise, as of October 31.
We are adding the following awards for 2011-13 administration:
A. $100 for the greatest increase in paid membership from October 31, 2011 to March 31 2012
B .$100 for the greatest per capita increase in paid membership from October 31, 2011 to March 31 2012
(deadline for dues is October 31, deadline for additional dues paid is March 31)
